YG-1 has launched a three-corner, 90-degree shoulder milling system that is designed for facing, slotting, and side milling.

The three-corner, positive insert is designed with a high-helix cutting edge to reduce cutting force and provide smooth cutting. The high positive-rake angle geometry creates optimized chip formation and minimizes burrs, and the newly designed curved cutting edge minimizes mismatch during step machining.

The insert also has a wide wiper edge to produce a finer finish.

The new grade YG612 with a multi-nano PVD coating improves performance and lengthens tool life compared to the company’s existing YG602 grade.

Submicron substrate maintains a stable balance of wear resistance and toughness, according to the manufacturer.
